The New Calder Gardens

The hottest topic in American gardening is Philadelphia’s new Calder Gardens, and with good reason. Join a private tour, plus on-site lunch, of this remarkable landscape designed by Piet Oudolf, and the Herzog & de Meuron-designed exhibition building for sculptures by renowned twentieth-century artist Alexander Calder. The tour, led by President of the Trustees Marsha Perelman, Horticulture Manager Erin Monda, and Senior Director of Programs Juana Berrío, will explore the long evolution of this project, Oudolf’s work, and plans for the new institution, which will follow Calder’s own philosophy of contemplation and mindfulness. Calder Gardens is not where you come to learn about something specific, but where you learn about yourself.
