About

This Digging Deeper is presented in partnership with COG Design.

Mount Auburn Cemetery, founded in 1838 as America's first garden cemetery, is renowned for its plant collection and landscape character. Larry Weaner Landscape Associates has designed several sites on the cemetery grounds, including a native meadow at the Washington Tower, located at the highest point on the property. Led by Jenna Webster, Senior Associate at Larry Weaner Landscape Associates, and Dennis Collins, Horticultural Curator at Mount Auburn, this talk will examine the landscape's evolution. In addition, the talk will discuss the native sedge and wildflower mosaic near the entrance at Ridge Path, which provides both an enhanced visitor experience as well as an important habitat.
